'78 overlander

Asfriends

This weekend we met Abe & Melissa from Richmond, VA - owners of a GREAT 1978 Airstream Overlander.  They had theirs renovated as well, waited more than 2 years for it, and were finally able to pick it up this past August.  The craftsmanship is gorgeous.

Inside1

We had a great time with them - and hope to see them somewhere else on the road in the future!

cold cold night

Curtis_blanket

We left the heat on low for half the night, wrapped Curtis in a blanket, and marveled at the number of tent campers here (all leaving today).  This is a dry-camping location for us (no hook-ups) so we're happy our heat isn't from electricity and we have two full propane tanks!

snow?!

river walk

Brianpa

14 hours of work yesterday left me with a right arm that no longer works.  I'm operating with just my left hand today.  I just took a break and did some RSI exercises and then we took a walk by the river.  Good thing tomorrow is a drive day.  No computer for me.

work - redesign

I'm completely buried with work.  We're doing a massive site re-design, and it will be live next Tuesday.  Anyone who knows my email address and wants to give it a test drive, let me know and I'll give you the URL and password info.  (You'll also be able to see Brian's videos)

blacksmith shop for sale

Bsmithfront

Bsmith_back

There are some really incredible buildings in this area. This blacksmith shop is for sale - the realtor's website was on the sign out front. It isn't going on our wish list because it is on a busy street (but has cute neighbors) and the roof is pretty saggy.

Westchester2

This is the picture I mentioned of me and my parents in the gazebo we saw yesterday.

west chester

Gazebo400

Today we toured West Chester Pennsylvania.  My home town when I was in kindergarten and 1st grade.  We saw the exterior of my old apartment and nursery school.  By accident we found this park, where an old family photo was taken.

serif

Serif

Last night Serif (pictured above) told me that he wants a life on the road, and thinks he could convince Curtie to play nice.

north haven high school

Hspict3

My uncle Radha is the Chairman of the Building Committee for the new North Haven High School. It was a volunteer position he took shortly after retirement. Last night we went to the opening ceremony and were so impressed with the enormity and importance of the project. I'm really happy that we were able to attend, we're all so proud of him.

fever and flowers

Flower

Nonnie snuck these pretty flowers into the trailer when we weren't looking, and Brian has a sore throat and fever.

nonnie's house

Nonnieshouse

We're staying at my grandmother's house this week - she's making so much food for us, we'll probably gain at least 5 pounds each.

b/t/w - when we "stay" at someone's house, we actually stay in the trailer.  I think Nonnie thinks we're nuts.

sudoku

Yesterday on the Today Show they were talking about a game called sudoku.  I found this sudoku website to be very entertaining.

chicago fashion 2

Chicagof2

Neon is back in Chicago.  We saw two occurrences during this visit.  If it keeps you visible in traffic - does that make it ok?

work work work

Yesterday we flew to Chicago for work - and we're here for the weekend.  All work and no play make for no pictures and L&B very tired.

ravi

Ravi

My cousin Ravi came up from Boston last night to check out the trailer and have dinner with us.

In the past he's avoided being in front of cameras, so this picture is a major accomplishment on my part!

wild turkeys

Turkeys2

The nice lady who checked us in to the campground told us that there are two gangs of turkeys here and it's like West Side Story - she said they are over-run with them, complained in more graphic terms about their excessive waste and said we could have 'em, kill 'em or whatever.

history

Fitzhugh

This statue is of Fitz Hugh Lane, a local maritime painter.

barking spiders

Does anyone know what a barking spider is?

I tried googling the phrase and couldn't really find anything.  Brian says we have barking spiders, and while I may have unknowingly heard them in the past, he was amazed I had never heard of barking spiders.

Must be a west coast thing - but then what are they doing here?!

gloucester

Gloucester

Today we had a quick tear-down in CT and a quick set-up in MA. We're happy with the new spot and hope the weather won't be too bad this week.

rock and rain

Rock

We saw this rock when we went on a cache earlier this week.

Today is our last day in N. Stonington, CT.  It's raining here, and looks like it will be raining for the next week while we're in Massachusetts.

glow ball

Curtie_in_the_dark

Tonight, after a great dinner with my dad and getting reamed in poker, Curtie convinced us to play his favorite game - glow ball.

skype

I'm working with a guy in Canada, and to avoid monster long distance calls, today I tried Skype, a voice over IP program that works a lot like instant messenger.  It's very cool.

In the news:  E-bay acquires Skype.

north stonington

Stonington

We haven't stopped the trailer travels - we're now near Foxwoods Casino and Mystic Seaport.

curtains & repairs

We arrived back to the trailer to find that my mom sewed curtains and my dad did some much needed repairs (THANK YOU!).

We'll leave the trailer with them any time!

cowboy wedding

Cowboy_wedding

Mrmrsp

Paul and Rachael's wedding was beautiful.  Rachael was gorgeous.  Brian made a cute cowboy and we had a great time.

We're all traveling this morning, they're off now on their honeymoon and we're flying back to the trailer.

rehearsal

Pr_rehearsal

Last night Brian practiced ushering his mom, and Paul (Brian's brother) and Rachael practiced their exit. (bad lighting=bad pictures...sorry!)
