the vortex

sedona.jpg

Thanks to all of the "casual observers" for revealing yourselves. Now of course I feel an obligation to get good pictures up every day, and I'm sad to say, this is the best I have of the beautiful Sedona red rock. It was a drive-by shot taken last Sunday. We also weren't able to pick up on the spiritual energy producing vortex - they say you need an open mind.

house of joy

houseofjoy.jpgThe House of Joy in Jerome was a brothel for almost 30 years; then a restaurant that turned away President Nixon, and now it's a gift shop.

Brian had a good day playing cards yesterday. He came in 4th in the Cliff Castle tournament - up against about 50 people.

lurkers

The cloud wants to know: who reads this blog but has never commented? Lurkers, we'd love to hear from you.

sam

Sam, the guy we met at Big Bend is camping with us for 2 nights. Here he is looking "mysterious" at the Tuzigoot National Monument.

Sam is available for dates in the western US.

jerome

Yesterday we did taxes, laundry and drove to Prescott. A woman we met in Washington touted it as the ideal place for her to live in Arizona. It's a cute town; seems to have a lot of drunks; might be because of their Whiskey Row.

On the way to Prescott, we discovered the funky town of Jerome. We will definitely be hanging out there later in the week.

cliff castle casino

cliffcastle.jpg

To us sight-seeing includes checking out the local casino. The Cliff Castle Casino located just south of Sedona, could be the best casino we've been to in Arizona. Even though it is small, it has something for everyone. Johnny Rockets, a bowling alley, a kid play area, 10 table poker room... The casino also seems to have a good sense of humor, the how to get there driving video being a fine example.

In the afternoon we went to Sedona. It's gorgeous, though the sky wasn't good for pictures...

red sand dog

We aren't able to do any real sight seeing during the work week, so you're getting dog pictures today. I couldn't decide which to post.

The SOB's (some other brand - trailer or rv) snubbed this guy when he rolled up yesterday with his renaissance faire style rig.

AZ state parks

Outside of Tucson we stayed at Catalina State Park (great showers). Outside of Phoenix we stayed at Lost Dutchman State Park. Now we're at Dead Horse Ranch State Park, just outside of Sedona.

sore paws

curties_cactus.jpg

I don't know what kind of cactus this is, but it drops huge prickers on the ground and poor Curtie gets them in his paws when we go on walks.

wbcci

We received our WBCCI member numbers yesterday. We were able to get the numbers this trailer was originally assigned 3 owners ago.

More celebrities buying airstreams...

We did it - we're in escrow on this 20 acre lot in Washington...
