laughlin
Last night we went to buy groceries in the Grand Canyon area and found nothing, so oops we ended up in Laughlin.
gc camping
This week we're staying at Mather Campground inside Grand Canyon Village. It is $18/night and doesn't have any water or electric hookups.
Just outside of the park is the Kaibab National Forest which has free and beautiful camping. Next time.
long hike
We met up with my cousins Raman & Nilou and hiked 3 miles in the canyon. I wanted to take a mule, but it turns out the mule rides are 7 hours long and can include an overnight at Phantom Ranch. Next time.
sedona to GC
The drive yesterday was BEAUTIFUL. Narrow and windy 89A from Sedona to Flagstaff, 180N through Coconino and Kaibab National Forest to finally the 64N to the Grand Canyon.
big rig
This giant pulled up next to us yesterday. It was their FIRST night ever camping in an RV and the guy came over asking Brian for help! Apparently they bought the 5th wheel off of ebay and were on their way home from picking it up. Their towing vehicle (which they said is too small for them) was originally used for hauling race cars.
