history

  • Our Flying Cloud was built in Santa Fe Springs, California around 1962. Airstream manufactured the Flying Cloud model from 1950-1963, so this one was the end of the line.
  • It was originally registered as #11229 in the Wally Byam Caravan Club International, or so we have heard.
  • We took over this blog along with the trailer from the previous owners. We are the Flying Cloud's fifth owners.
  • An ad for a 1958 Flying Cloud.

graduation

DSC03150blog.jpg

On Wednesday we went to our nephew Skyler's high school graduation - Arapahoe High School outside of Denver. The school has a relationship with the Arapahoe Nation after which it is named, and one of the Chiefs and his family traveled from the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming to speak at the ceremony. Rather touching.

Michael graduated from the same high school just a couple dec----I mean years!-----ago.

Congratulations Skyler!

Comments

If this is the high school in Littleton, my grandson will be attending soon. Hopefully, I will be at his graduation in a few years and enjoy a colorful ceremony. Have you named the Flying Cloud? Hope you didn't have any hail damage...the West Texas news is four inches of hail in Denver.

Yep, that's the one in Littleton, and no, no hail damage here fortunately. Hail obviously the enemy of any object with an aluminum shell!

Great picture, but as a current student, I would like to point out the Native American tribe spells it "Arapaho" in their language. The "e" is just for proper English pronounciation.
